Wistaston Parish Council is made up of 12 councillors in three wards who are elected by the residents to represent the interests of Wistaston residents.
All Councillors are unpaid volunteers who give up their time and expertise for the benefit of the Wistaston community.

Cllr. David Lucas - Notification of Interests
23 Rectory Close, Wistaston, CW2 8HG David joined the Council in 2016. A retired engineer who has lived in Wistaston for most of his life, he is a member of the planning sub committee also the WSLA management committee. He is dedicated to maintaining the friendly community, semi rural feel of Wistaston and is extremely keen in doing everything possible to maintain the green gaps. |

Cllr. Derrick Millington - Notification of Interests 9 Chesterton Drive, Wistaston, CW2 8EA Derrick joined the Council in 2009. He was born in Newcastle Under Lyme and moved to the South of England where for 20 years he ran a successful newsagents / post office / coffee shop business. Whilst there he served on the Town Council. Upon returning to the North West in 2005 he settled in Wistaston where he took up employment as a water pollution surveyor. Having retired in 2011 he now enjoys spending time with family, his hobbies and volunteers in a charity shop. |

Cllr. Bob Squirrell - Notification of Interests
6 Beaumont Close, Wistaston, CW2 8BU Bob served for 17 years as a Parish Councillor in neighbouring Rope before moving to Wistaston. He joined Wistaston Parish Council in 2019. Originally from Hertfordshire, he worked in London before moving to Leicestershire where he met his wife Sue. Their next move was to Cheshire where they both now feel at home. Bob spent most of his working life with distribution companies, initially in purchasing before moving into IT. He is now retired. He is a Trustee of the Memorial Hall, a committee member of WSLA and a PCC member of St Mary’s Church in Wistaston. |

Cllr. Following a successful career in the IT industry Diane retired back to Wistaston in May 2020. She joined the Council in November 2020 and is a member of the Planning Subcommittee. Diane is also a member of the Crewe and Nantwich local committee of Cancer Research UK having taken over from her mum who was on the committee for 50 years. On a personal note she is a keen sports fan and a season ticket holder for Crewe Alexandra whom her grandfather once played for. |

My background is in accounting and finance, having spent the last 20 years working for a local construction company. A keen tennis player and lifelong Crewe Alexandra supporter. |

Cllr. From 1992 to 2005, I lived in Wistaston, where I raised my family and began my journey in care and healthcare. With a deep commitment to supporting others, I built a career in Adult Social Care, including serving as a CQC Registered Manager. My professional path then led me into nursing, where I worked at UHNM hospital as a stroke nurse, and more recently in an Acquired Brain Injury unit, supporting residents with complex care needs and learning disabilities. I studied at both Manchester Metropolitan University and Keele University, with a strong academic interest in Public Health and sociology—areas that continue to fuel my research and personal development. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, writing poetry, watching sport, and spending time outdoors walking my dog. I’m also a dedicated carer to my cats and love the balance of companionship and care they bring to daily life. As a mother and grandmother, I take pride in the values of compassion, resilience, and lifelong learning, both in my personal and professional life. |

Cllr. John Moore (Chairman) - Notification of Interests
50 Laidon Avenue, Wistaston, CW2 6QH John joined the Council in 1995 following his retirement as an engineer in Rolls Royce. He enjoys carrying out voluntary work for the benefit of residents in Wistaston and is proud of his achievements which involve assisting in setting up Wistaston Sports and Leisure Association, obtaining grants to develop the playground at Joey the Swan, College Fields Community Orchard and woodland work. |

Cllr. Margaret Simon - Notification of Interests
c/o The Clerk to Wistaston PC Margaret moved to Wistaston in 1974 after her marriage and has lived in her current home since 1977. Her working life was spent in Customer Service for the Building Society movement. Over the years she has given her time to local clubs and organisations, she was a Governor at Shavington High School for just short of 20 years and a South Cheshire College Governor for the maximum time allowed of 16 years. Margaret has served on Local Authorities as a Councillor for the Wistaston area continuously since 1999, she has been a member of Cheshire County Council, Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council, Cheshire East Council and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service. Margaret is currently a Committee member of Wistaston Memorial Hall Bowling Club and Wistaston Wistaston Sports and Leisure Association. She is also a member of Wistaston Flower Club. She enjoys getting involved in, and playing her part in, looking after our local community. |
